After graduating from Syracuse University, Darra spent several years in corporate marketing, working on both the agency and client side in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.  With BMS, Merck and Abbott Laboratories, Aetna, and Cardinal Health as clients, it was easy to understand that brand communications, identity and marketing strategy would be key focuses for that client base.  For many years Darra used that experience to broaden her industry focus to include non-profits and boutique businesses.

As her experience grew, so did her expertise.  Brand consistency and brand building strategies became a way to introduce clients to the importance of identity and strength in the market share, and After 15+ years in a corporate environment, Darra felt that these branding strategies should be accessible to all companies large or small.  In the winter of 2007, she began to create her consulting firm.  

That next year, Ajna Media & Marketing Consulting Group, LLC became a reality with the company’s first clients, Bunky’s Maple Syrup, The Bradley Family Reunion and The Z Room Open Mic Comedy Show, successful boutique businesses who needed a marketing push to build brand awareness.  Fast forward to 2022, where the need for strategy planning and development becomes a necessity as the global reach expands.  Darra aspires to ensure that your experience with her consultants is one of a heartfelt passion for your business, the need to see the real growth in your business and to watch that growth help you maintain your market share.  Darra thrives on building client relationships that are comfortable and natural, making it easier for everyone involved to deliver the client need.
